Copper Mugs!

Here's the first completed item off of my twenty-six before twenty-six list! Copper mugs, check! I've been wanting more copper things in my kitchen, and these mugs have been on my mind for a while now. Then my friend found some on clearance and I just had to go for it! They are so cute, and super fun to drink out of. I just want to drink everything out of them from now on!

26 Before 26

I decided to go ahead and come up with a twenty-six before twenty-six list this year! I've never done one before, but it seemed like the blogger-y thing to do ;)

I have several things that have been on my to-do list for a long time (finish my furniture projects and my camper), and a few things that I came up with just for this list because they sounded like fun! (Like trying a dragon fruit and knitting a blanket)

I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself, but I'm excited to see how many of these I can knock of the list before my birthday next summer! And of course I will share them with you as I go along!

TWENTY-SIX BEFORE TWENTY-SIX

  1. Try a dragon fruit. They just look so cool!
  2. Perform at an open mic night with Dane!
  3. Finish my camper.
  4. Go camping in finished camper!
  5. Organize my house Marie Kondo style. Specifically my paper situation.
  6. Come up with (and stick to!) a house cleaning schedule.
  7. Work on my photography skills.
  8. Get a puppy! -Done!
  9. Knit a blanket. I think I'm finally ready! -Done! Better late than never...
  10. Try one new recipe every month.
  11. Learn to play the ukulele/mandolin. We already have a mandolin, but ukuleles are so cool!
  12. Plant a vegetable garden.
  13. Pickle some asparagus. Yum!
  14. Make my intsagram account better fit my brand.
  15. Paint all of my furniture projects. Finally.
  16. Go to the beach. -Done.
  17. Make almond roca. I kind of cheated, oops!
  18. Perfect my cupcake frosting skills.
  19. Visit Colorado/another state I haven't been to.
  20. Weave a wall hanging. They are so neat!
  21. Throw a mini food party. Because, mini food!
  22. Go skiing for the first time.
  23. Start doing yoga again and learn a hand stand!
  24. Have a fall themed brunch.
  25. Buy some copper mugs. Put some ginger beer into said mugs ;) - Done!
  26. Finish my stationary line!
I can't wait to get started on these and share them with you all. Wish me luck!

Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Oh you guys! I have been meaning to share this recipe with you all for weeks now, and I am finally getting around to it! I would have to say that chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, and these are a good spin on a classic.

I found the original recipe over on A Beautiful Mess (those girls are just amazing, but you probably already knew that, because we all read their blog right? Right??), and with my dietary restrictions, I knew these were just up my alley.

I did, however, make a few adjustments to make them more to my taste, and to cut back on the sugar, and they turned out so good! The batter almost tastes like nutella, and everybody knows that it doesn't get much better than that.

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES: makes 20-22

1/2 c. almond butter
1/2 c. hazelnut butter
1/4 c. Splenda brown sugar blend (or your own blend/mix)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. sugar free chocolate chips
Sea salt to sprinkle on top (optional)

Mix all together in a medium bowl, and drop spoonfuls onto your baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes, and voila! You will have a delicious, gooey treat that goes perfectly with a glass of milk.

You just may want to wait a few minutes to let them cool though, you know, so you don't scorch all of your taste buds off ;) you will definitely want your tongue to be at full tasting capacity!

I like to buy my almond butter in bulk at Winco, so it saves me some money, and I also make my own hazelnut butter using a food processor. It's so simple, you just throw them in and grind until it's a nut butter consistency! The hazelnut butter mixed with the chocolate chips is what gives it that really good nutella-like flavor.

If you don't want to go the sugar substitute route, or you want to try different nut butters, check out the original recipe here. Trust me, even if you are an avid, bread-loving, carb-eater, you will not miss the flour in these cookies!

I hope you'll try these out, and that you enjoy them as much as I do (seriously, I can't stop making them!). Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

I'm 25!

It's my birthday! Today I am officially half way through my twenties, and that feels super weird!

I know that some people stop getting excited about their birthdays as they get older, but that isn't the case yet for me. Maybe it's just the narcissist in me, but I LOVE my birthday, and I usually end up celebrating birth-week instead ;)

I'm thinking this year about coming up with some sort of 26 before 26 list, and if I do, I will definitely share. It might be a good way to knock some goals off of my list!

I had planned on being done with my new blog and card designs by now, and doing something big for you all in celebration and thanks, but life gets busy and I'm not quite prepared. But I will say that I have something in store, and I can't wait to share it all with you!

For now though, I am off to go celebrate with my friends and family. My mom is treating me to a birthday brunch (she knows how much I love brunch!) and tonight my parents are taking the whole family out to the rodeo. It's going to be a good day, and hopefully a good year as well!

Around Here Lately

This has been one of those weeks that simultaneously seems to be flying by, but also going really slowly. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I can't be the only one who has those weeks, right?

My husband's brother and his wife (my most FAVORITE sis-in-law in the whole world, in case you're reading this Emily ;) ) are in town, and we've seen them several times in the last couple weeks. On Monday I got to take my sisters and meet them at the water park for the day, which was a lot of fun! Again though, I am the worst blogger and I took no pictures...

This weekend we have even more family coming into town for the 4th of July, so it will be a busy one to say the least. My family has an annual reunion/potluck that I always look forward to, even if the weather is supposed to be blazing hot!

I've still been working on my branding and new logo lately, and I wrapped up a baby shower invite this week too! More to come on that later :)

One thing I plan on doing a lot more of is water color, so I've been playing around with that, and also "brushing up" on my brush lettering! Haha, see what I did there? I know, I know, I'm a riot ;)

Those gems might become a part of my 'you rock' card

On another note, can we all just agree that Rifle Paper Co. is just the best ever? They paired up with Tattly to come out with these adorable temporary tattoos that I am in love with!

I had to go ahead and order myself some of the ones pictured! I would love a real tattoo, but I probably won't ever get one. These should satisfy any tattoo fever I'll ever get!

On another, also unrelated, but awesome note, Dane got his diploma in the mail today! He's now completely and officially a BAS grad! And I couldn't be more proud of him :)

That is what's going on around here lately. Do you have any fun plans for this holiday weekend? Let me know below! And thanks for stopping by!
