Reading  The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. I actually finished it a couple of days ago, it was such a quick read! It was very good though, I really enjoyed it. It is based on a true story, about a gorilla in confinement. It's told from his point of view, and it is very touching. It's a YA novel, and it's very easy to follow. I got it on the recommendation of my former English teacher, who you can check out over at her blog In Search of the End of the Sidewalk. And now, I'm recommending it to you!
Writing  I've been working on a couple new posts for a while, but I just haven't been able to get them finished yet. Hopefully, I will get them done and posted for you all soon! One of them is a finished DIY project, so if that's your kind of thing, keep an eye out!
Listening  Dane is playing the cello on the other side of the house, and I can faintly hear it. Neither of us really play it, but he is so talented when it comes to instruments. He plays the guitar, banjo, trumpet, and harmonica. He's trying to learn the mandolin, and the cello, and he already sounds like he's getting the hang of it. I played the violin as a kid, so I bet I could pick up the cello if I really tried, I'm just not sure if I want to. It is a beautiful sounding instrument though.
Thinking  I need to turn up my thermostat, or make a fire, because it is cold in my house! I think this every day!
Smelling  Nothing. My nose is plugged up.
Wishing  That my nose wasn't plugged up, and that my throat didn't hurt. That's right, I'm a sickie this weekend. This is the third time I've gotten this cold in the last few months, and I'm over it already. I let myself get run down last week, and I gave myself a set-back. I feel better than I did last night though, so I think maybe I'm on the mend!
Wearing  Lots of layers. I am all bundled in my wool socks, sweats, sweater, and blankets. This is what I plan on being in all day!
Loving  My pretty (big) teacup. I got it at my work's gift exchange, and I haven't used it a lot. It's perfect for drinking my hot tea out of this morning.
Wanting  Some hot soup. Or more tea. Either way, I don't want to get up, so I think Dane is going to have to play nurse today. Here's hoping I can convince him to run to the store for me later!
Needing  To discuss Downton Abbey with someone! I just watched the season three finale yesterday, and the end blew my mind! Don't worry, no spoilers here, but I keep thinking I need to call my sister-in-law and ask if she saw it yet! I don't want to give anything away, but if you're an avid DA fan, and you haven't seen it yet, then you need to, pronto! Actually, if you aren't watching it yet at all, you really need to start. It is one of the best shows out there right now.
Clicking  On Ultimate Guitar. They have the best collection of song chords and tabs for guitar, and I go there every time I want to learn a new song. This is the one I've been trying to learn this weekend.

Linking up with Lauren.

  1. Ugh. I hear ya on the plugged up nose. It's awful. I couldn't breath last night! Let's discuss Downton. I watched the finale back in January and then I was waiting and waiting for everyone to watch the ending. I just think that they kill characters off when they've served their purpose. If you wanna discuss more, let's chat!

We have a lot of laminate and tile in our house, so my feet freeze all the time!

    1. I know, I'm pretty jealous of him! But he's been playing and practicing for years, I guess I probably could too if I kept up with it like he does :)

  6. Amy,

Thanks for the blog shout out! I just barely saw this, as I've been super lazy about my blog reading (and just about everything else!) this last week. You are right that the book was a super fast read, but it definitely earned its award! I'll be buying it for all my nieces and nephews this year.

    Keep writing! :)
